Know your new DG&IGP

Neelmani N Raju (born January 17, 1960), a native of Roorkee, Haridwar district, Uttarakhand, joined Indian Police Service (IPS) on December 21, 1983, opting Karnataka cadre.

She served as ASP, SVPN Police Academy, Hyderabad, for over three years.

Her first service in Karnataka was at Chintamani sub-division in the erstwhile
undivided Kolar district as ASP. She served as SP, Finger Print Bureau, Bengaluru;
SP (Administration/Intelligence); SP, Bengaluru Rural and SP (Intelligence).

She went on Central deputation from April 1, 1992. She served as Assistant Director, Intelligence Bbureau (IB), New Delhi; Secretary, Embassy of India, Kathmandu; Deputy Director, IB; Joint Director, IB and Additional Director, IB.

After over 24 years of Central assignments, she returned to Karnataka and was appointed DGP (Internal Security Division) on April 3, 2016. She became DGP (Fire and Emergency Services) on March 24, 2017.
