Addressing a meeting organised at Robertsonpet here on Wednesday night, he said Yaragol project envisaged drinking water supply to Bangarpet, KGF, Kolar, Malur and Mulbagal taluks in the first phase.

Rs two lakh
Rajendran recalled that when he was MLA he had allotted Rs two lakh for the survey work of the drinking water project. The Yeddyurappa-led government has betrayed the people of KGF by dropping the City from the project, he added. Rajendran questioned the logic behind supplying water to Kolar city which was 50 km from the Yaragol project and dropping of KGF which was just 10 km away.

Water shortage
He urged the government not to drop KGF from the drinking water project as the City was facing acute water shortage. The government should desilt Betamangala tank and build dam in Nagavaram Valley in the taluk for proper utilisation of water.
Though KGF MLA is from the ruling party, there has been little development since two-and-a-half years.

The law and order situation in KGF has worsened over the period putting residents and in particular women at a greater risk, Rajendran said.

‘Bid to communalise KGF’
There are efforts to communalise KGF society which is pluralistic in nature.
People from all religions, classes and castes have peacefully lived in the City. Some people are conspiring to divide the society on the lines of caste. The Republican Party will fight these conspires, Rajendran said.
City Municipal Council  Tangatayi, Shivamani, Palani, Ramesh Babu, Shivakumar, Mani Meghalan, Advocate Sundarram Reddy, Surya Kumar and several others were present on the occasion.
