Pandey, Rahul boost for Karnataka

The Karnataka Ranji Trophy team received a boost on Monday as India internationals KL Rahul and Manish Pandey returned for the clash against Delhi at Alur, beginning November 9.

D Nischal, who made his Ranji debut in the previous match against Maharashtra, and wicket-keeper Sharath Srinivas have been released and will join the Col CK Nayudu Trophy squad, in which Karnataka will face Baroda.

Notable absentee will be pacer Sreenath Arvind, who is being rested as a rotation policy the Karnataka team has introduced. Arvind, who also sat out the last game against Maharashtra, is likely to return for the fifth match against Uttar Pradesh in Kanpur.

With three wins in as many matches and 20 points in the bag, Karnataka will look to maintain their top spot in the points table when they take on a formidable Delhi with paceman Ishant Sharma at the helm.
