Multiple protests hold up traffic in Bengaluru

Traffic on the major roads in the city came to a grinding halt on Wednesday as many political parties including Congress, AAP, CPI and BJP took out protest rallies.

While Congress, CPI and AAP organised rallies condemning demonetisation effected a year ago, the RSS and BJP protested near Town Hall against Tipu Jayanti celebrations.

Traffic was held up on the busy Nrupatunga Road, Mysore Bank Circle, Palace Road, Anand Rao Circle, KR Circle, Maharani College Road and KG Road. Vehicles moved at snail's pace on arterial roads.

Congress took out a from Maurya Circle to Freedom Park. The CPI also held a protest at Mysore Bank Circle. AAP took out the rally from Nrupatunga Road to KG Road. Hundreds of BJP and RSS workers staged a demonstration at Town Hall. All four protests left commuters stranded in many parts of the city.
