JOIN USKannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha president Vatal Nagaraj on Thursday said that he was the person who suggested the state government to host Tipu Sultan Jayanti.
Speaking to media persons here Nagaraj said, he has been celebrating Tipu Jayanti for the past 15 years. "Tipu was born in Devanahalli near Bengaluru and he is not a foreigner. I support Tipu jayanti," he reiterated.
"The state government had invited me as a main speaker during the last year's celebration. In my speech, I had said that Tipu was a great hero of the nation." Vatal Nagaraj congratulated the state government and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for organising Tipu jayanti.
Vatal Nagaraj said, he would launch an agitation demanding the Centre to instal the statue of Tipu in front of Samsat Bhavan.
