While supporting the demand for a separate flag for Karnataka, legislator K Sudhakar said Karnataka had a rich culture and legacy, and there was nothing wrong in having a flag of its own.

The committee led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has considered the issue seriously and will soon arrive at a decision in this regard, Sudhakar said at a programme here recently.

"Karnataka has a rich legacy and there is nothing wrong in having a separate flag for the state. We are having a lot of debate in this regard. In the United States, each state has its own flag."

Sudhakar said the youth should read Kannada literature, while they also respect other languages.
