IOCL, BPCL begin well

Led by a hat-trick from Didar Singh, IOCL routed Karnataka State Police 5-1 while Amar Aiyamma and Gurmail Singh scored a brace each as BPCL beat Canara Bank 6-3.
The champions got off to an enterprising start when Didar sounded the board in the first minute of the match before slotting another two minutes later -- both goals coming from penalty corners.

Didar then notched up his hat-trick in the 16th minute from a penalty stroke and India international Deepak Thakur completed the demolition act, striking in the 43rd and 54th minutes.
