The employees of the Suzlon Energy Ltd (SEL), located in the Suzlon Special Economic Zone (SEZ) near Padubidri, continued their protest on Wednesday. The employees started protesting following the announcement of the lockout in the early hours of Tuesday.
The company has 326 permanent workers and over 200 labourers working on contract basis. Intuc has extended its support to the protest. The protesting workers said that they will continue their stir till they get justice.
The lockout notice stated that over the last seven months,"workers have indulged in slow tactics resulting in a production loss of more than 60%."
