Law Minister T B Jayachandra  on Thursday  said the question of granting interim relief to the state government employees does not arise as the Sixth Pay Commission is scheduled to submit its report  in two months.

Replying to BJP MLC Ramachandra Gowda, on behalf of the chief minister in the Legislative Council, he said, "The model code of conduct for the 2018 Assembly elections is expected to come into effect from March next year. Before the election code comes into force, the government will take an appropriate decision on the pay revision, based on the recommendations of the commission," he added.

The State Government Employees' Association had recently demanded that the government should grant 30% interim relief.
