<p>Private medical doctors on Friday agreed to call off their five-day-old protest following an assurance from the state government to modify the controversial the Karnataka Private Medical Establishment (KPME) Bill, 2017.</p>.<p>The revised Bill will be tabled in the Assembly on Monday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah told reporters after holding a meeting with the doctors at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha.</p>.<p>The changes the government has assured to bring in are: Removal of the imprisonment clause, the grievance redressal committee will not handle clinical complaints and lastly, the government will fix cost for procedures that come under government insurance schemes only.</p>
