KPCL cuts power supply by 500 MW
The continued shortage of coal has forced the Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd (KPCL) to downgrade its power supply by 500 MW per day with immediate effect. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday called an emergency meeting where Energy Minister D K Shivakumar conceded that additional purchase of power had become inevitable to avoid load-shedding, reports DHNS from Bengaluru.
