As the Congress hailed its pre-poll pact with Hardik Patel, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday said the agreement will not pass legal muster and the duo was deceiving the Patidar community with its quota promise.
"The Congress-Hardik club is of mutual deception. Legally and constitutionally, it is not possible," Jaitley, who is also the in-charge of Gujarat Assembly elections for the BJP, told reporters here.
The BJP leader said only promises which can be implemented should be made to each other and the public during elections.
Former law minister and Congress leader Kapil Sibal said whatever assurances he had given to PAAS leader Hardik Patel on quota were after giving a lot of thought.
