"We are here to verify on whether the directions issued by the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) have been followed or not. Also, we are looking into fresh allegations of encroachments of mining areas,” IBM official Ram Mohan told media persons in Hospet on Saturday.
The team constituted by the Union Mines and Geology Ministry comprises officials of IBM, ISRO, Geographical Survey of India and National Remote Sensing Agency. Four teams have been constituted to study over 100 mines in the state.
