Chewing gums banned on Namma Metro

Last Updated 05 December 2017, 09:45 IST

Namma Metro has now banned chewing gum on the trains and even the stations. The Metro also prohibits paan and gutka on its premises.

The public announcement system in the Namma Metro train called upon the passengers to stop using chewing gums inside trains and stations.

According to the Metro officials, "The housekeeping staff of the train has noticed passengers pasting the chewing gums under the seats and other places, hence we have decided to forbid the chewing gum with paan and gutka in the Metro." Passengers caught chewing gum will be fined similarly to people chewing paan on the premises.

The metro has already banned eatables in the train and stations premises for maintaining cleanliness.
