Wadiyars cheer for new born

Last Updated 07 December 2017, 17:21 IST

It is celebration time in the erstwhile royal family of Mysuru, in both Mysuru Palace and the Bengaluru Palace, with Trishika Kumari, wife of the scion Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, delivering a baby boy on Wednesday night.

"The baby is born in the fourth pada of Punarvasu nakshatra and belongs to Karkataka rashi. The baby is born with Gajakesari yoga, which means he has Rajayoga. He will be number one in his chosen field. However, he also has Kalasarpa yoga, which means that he may face some problems, including family issues," said astrologer Shalva Pille Iyengar. He said, in the Yadu dynasty, Punarvasu and Rohini nakshatras are held in high esteem.

"Sri Rama was born in the Punarvasu nakshatra, while Sri Krishna was born in Rohini nakshatra. Mummudi Krishnaraja Wadiyar was born in Rohini nakshatra and he was crowned as the Maharaja of the Yadu dynasty in 1799, after the fall of Tipu Sultan. It has to be recalled that the throne had fallen vacant since 1796 up to 1799 following the death of Chamaraja Wadiyar IX while Tipu Sultan was the dictator," he said.

"As the family is involved in several legal battles for its properties, the birth of the baby is seen as a good sign in regaining the lost wealth and glory of the dynasty. 'Punar' means regaining and 'vasu' means wealth. While the baby is blessed with several yogas such as Shanka yoga, Kahala yoga, Mridanga yoga, Kemadruma yoga, Nabhasa yoga, there are also some issues like Vittahaani yoga. Due to the Kemadruma yoga, the boy is expected to take good care of the elderly members of the family," Iyengar said.

"While the names of most of the scions of the dynasty have been named after Shyama (black), related to both Krishna and Kaali, the baby is expected to be named after Rama, due to its nakshathra. Chamaraja in the dynasty is also a native form of Shyama. Due to mental stress in the jataka, the baby should be taken care of well till his youth. However, he is blessed with longevity," he said.
