Govt misused powers to get favourable forensic report: KSE

Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council K S Eshwarappa has accused the government of misusing its powers to get a favourable forensic report from doctors at Kasturba Medical College-hospital, Manipal, in connection with the murder of BJP worker Paresh Mesta in Honnavar.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, he said the Siddaramaiah government was so shameless that it used its power to get a fake report from doctors on the death of Mesta, for political gains.

Doctors claim that there was no injury on his body. But Mesta's parents are of the view that he was murdered. So, the case must be handed over to the National Investigation Agency. Eshwarappa said the government was shielding the 21-year-old's assassins.

Slamming IGP Hemanth Nimbalkar, the BJP leader said the police officer had said that it was not a case of murder as his (Nimbalkar's) wife was an aspirant for a Congress ticket in the Assembly elections. He said the BJP would stage a protest in Honnavar on December 18, demanding that those behind the murder of Mesta be arrested.
