Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has accused the BJP of fomenting law and order problem in the state out of "desperation over its impending defeat" in the upcoming Assembly polls.
"In the last Assembly election, Congress won three seats while Independents secured two and the BJP managed to win only one seat in Uttara Kannada district. This time, the BJP is attempting to polarise voters by fuelling violence. Union Minister Anantkumar Hegde instigating clashes," Siddaramaiah said. He was speaking to reporters here on Friday.
A person lost his life in the recent violence in Uttara Kannada district. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained through post mortem report and investigation, he added.
