Thieves decamp with imported items worth Rs 1 lakh

In yet another case of theft in Vittal, thieves broke into  a house, in Kukkebettu of Kepu village, and have stolen valuables worth lakhs of rupees.

The house belongs to K P Sulaiman. The thieves gained entry when the members of the house were  at an another house on Sunday. The neighbours noticed the broken door on Monday.

The items stolen include 10 tins of skimmed milk, six iron boxes, three blankets and six emergency lights - all imported from Gulf.

The thieves broke the main gate before entering the house. They searched for gold ornaments in different almirahs, unable to find any gold, decamped with other valuable items costing around Rs 1 lakh.

The theft took place, despite police security on the same road for the Kepu Kajampu Utsava.

A case has been registered at Vittal police station.

Series of theft has taken place  under the Vittal police station limits during the last one month. The thieves stole gold worth Rs 10 lakh from a house in Ukkuda recently. Futile attempts of theft were carried out at the finances and banks in Mangalapadavu and Saletturu of Vittal. The incidents have created panic among general public.
