Chamundeshwari MLA G T Devegowda said, the case against his son and brother in the Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) row is politically motivated at a time when the Assembly elections are nearing.
He said, the case is a closed chapter, but the government has revoked it only for political gains. "Chief Minister Siddaramaiah wished that I may join the Congress. Once, it became certain that I would not join the Congress, attempts were made to woo my supporters. When they also refused, Siddaramaiah has resorted to such vindictive politics," he said.
"People are aware of the limited powers vested with the chairman of the KHB. All the decisions regarding the acquisition of lands are taken by the finance secretary of the KHB, Town Planning Officer and Commissioner. The names of my family members have been unnecessarily dragged into the issue," he said.
