It was a high-level meeting in which Opposition Leader L K Advani, party president Rajnath Singh, Karnataka in-charge Arun Jaitely and senior leader Sushma Swaraj participated. From Karnataka, ministers Karunakara Reddy, Janardhana Reddy, Sriramulu, State party president Sadananda Gowda and the CM attended the meeting.

The national leaders asked the Bellary ministers not to indulge in any activity that may harm the first and only BJP government in South India. Advani and Rajnath Singh told the CM to involve all senior leaders in the decision-making process.  The national leaders were understood to have told Jaitely to convey to Eshwarappa not to make statements against the party’s interests and even threatened stern action against him if he repeated his remarks.
