'Sainikara Mane Manege' campaign on Dec 29

BJP Sainika Prakostha will initiate the 'Sainikara Mane Manege' campaign at Bal Bhavan at 11:00 am on December 29.

Addressing media persons in Madikeri on Tuesday, Prakostha district Convener O S Chengappa said that all soldiers, ex-servicemen and their family members will take part in the programme.

The members of the Prakostha will conduct visits to the houses of the soldiers and ex-servicemen for the next six months. Their dependents will be provided with information on the central and state governments schemes made available for them.

Currently, 34 members are working in the Prakostha. New members will be enroled soon. The Prakostha will also seek cooperation from the local gram panchayat presidents and members.

There are around 15,000 ex-servicemen, dependents of soldiers and widows. Many of them are deprived of the facilities they are entitled to. Awareness will be created among such people on medical facilities, canteens, sites and on 'One Rank One Pension' scheme, Chengappa said.

Sainka Prakostha Conveners and Co-Conveners Madeyanda Nachappa, Gangadhar, Patrapanda Karumbaiah, Kuttanda Nanda Madappa and Chandrappa were present.
