National-level awards in farming on Jan 20

Jaivik India Awards, powered by the International Competence Center for Organic Agriculture (ICCOA), will be presented for the first time on January 20, 2018, at the Palace Grounds during the Organics and Millets 2018- International Trade Fair organised by the Department of Agriculture.

It's one-of-a-kind, national-level award for agriculture which will be presented to farmers in seven categories - Best Organic Farmer/Farmer Organisation, State Government or Government Agencies, Outstanding Performance, Retail Branding and Marketing, Companies with Direct Farmer Linkage, Best Agency Accredited by APEDA, and The Best Company in Marketing of Organic Millets.

The jury includes Minister for Agriculture Krishna Byre Gowda, former Union minister of agriculture Sompal Shastry, Tapan Ray, CEO, LT Foods, New Delhi, Andre Leu, the president of IFOAM Germany, among others.

The three-day trade fair beginning on January 19 will have workshops for farmers on sustainable crops, corporate companies will connect with farmers and consumers can explore organic products.
