<p align="justify" class="title">In order to effectively handle the peak hour rush, the frequency of the Metro trains will further increase from Tuesday.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">Officials are set to introduce 10 additional trips on the Purple Line (Baiyappanahalli-Mysore Road) and three more trips on the Green Line (Nagasandra-Yelachenahalli).</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">With this, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited has reduced the four-minute waiting time during peak hours on the Purple Line (8.30 am to 9.10 am and 5.10 pm to 5.50 pm) to 3.5 minutes.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">On the Green Line, the additional trips will translate into an extension of the peak hour frequency of six minutes in the morning and evening, an official release said.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">In the release, the BMRCL also said the number of train services has been increased even during non-peak hours.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">3.25 lakh ridership on Dec 31 </p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">The New Year's eve celebrations on Sunday saw the metro ridership crossing 3.25 lakh, considered a substantial number for a Sunday.</p>.<p align="justify" class="bodytext">As many as 31,116 people utilised the Metro service during the extended hours of operation between 12 am and 2 am. The corporation had fixed a flat fare of Rs 50 for those travelling from MG Road, Trinity and Cubbon Park, which is expected to have boosted the earnings.</p>
