Man held for killing moneylender's wife

Police have arrested a 35-year-old man for murdering homemaker Tara Prabhu whose decomposed body was found on Sangam Road  near Commercial Street, Central Bengaluru,  on Monday.

Police are interrogating the man, Gopinath, to find out the motive for the murder. Tara (40) was a homemaker living  at Marappa Garden in JC Nagar with her husband Prabhu, a small-time moneylender.

She was found murdered in her mother Sarala's home on Monday evening. Sarala discovered her body when she returned from Hubballi.

Police suspect a financial dispute as the motive for the murder since several of Tara's valuables like gold chain and bangles were left on her person.
