Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been invited to have lunch at the Adichunchanagiri Mutt at Vijayanagar in Bengaluru during his visit to the city to address BJP's Nava Karnataka Nirmana Parivarthan Yatra on Sunday.
According to sources, Adichunchanagiri Mutt has close links with Gorakhnath Math in Gorakhpur of Uttar Pradesh, in which Adityanath was the head priest.
Both the mutts follow the Nath pantha, a Shaivism sub-tradition.
The sources said the present seer of Adichunchanagiri Mutt Nirmalanandanath Swami personally invited Adityanath to have lunch at the Mutt.
During his visit to Karnataka in August last year, BJP national president Amit Shah visited Adichunchanagiri Mutt in Nagmangala, a move seen as an attempt to woo Vokkaliga voters by the BJP.
