It is not just rooftop pubs and bars but the commercial establishments such as bakeries have also been issued closure notices on Friday for violating the building sanction plans.

After Mujahid Pasha, chairman, BBMP standing committee on health, conducted an inspection, notices were issued to shut down two commercial establishments and fines were slapped on four other shops for not maintaining cleanliness standards.

Cakewala, a popular bakery in Jayanagar 4th Block has been issued a notice to shut down the rooftop activity. Along with this, Grill Square, a BBQ place and Once Upon A Rooftop, a bar have been directed to shut down.

"These places have not taken the trade license from the BBMP and neither have they complied with fire safety norms. Also, their kitchens were highly unhygienic," said Pasha, chairman, standing committee of health, BBMP.

"We have given them prior notice to shut down and they have one week time after which we will close these shops," said Pasha.

Brew Meister, a rooftop bar, Meghana and La Casia have been penalised for not maintaining the cleanliness standards. La Casia has been fined with Rs 1 lakh.
