CMC to impose fine for misusing water

In the backdrop of water crisis in Ullal CMC limits, Ullal CMC president Hussain Kunhimonu and Commissioner Vani Alva have warned of imposing a fine of Rs 500 to Rs 5,000 on those who misuse water.

A press release stated that there is shortage of water in Ullal CMC limits. The CMC has appealed to the public not to waste water for cleaning vehicles or for watering the plantations. "Water must be used judiciously. If anyone is found misusing water, then the CMC will initiate measures to disconnect water supply and also impose a fine between Rs 500 to Rs 5,000," the release stated.
