A day after Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje made it loud and clear that Padmavat will not be released in Rajasthan, several Rajput organisations have announced protest against the release of the film in other parts of the country.

Vasundhara had said Padmini's sacrifice is a matter of honour and pride for the state and hence the film will not be released in Rajasthan.

Unhappy with the CBFC decision to release the film on Jan 25th, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, national president of Shree Rastriya Rajput Karni Sena said, "How do we know what changes they have made? Even those in the review board are happy with the changes made." "We want an all-India ban on Padmavat untill we are satisfied with the changes made. India will burn if the  CBFC releases the film on January 25," Gogamedi said.   The Karni Sena has also demanded changes in the names of the characters days after the censor board suggested changing its title from 'Padmavati' to 'Padmavat', after Malik Muhammad Jayasi's epic poem of the same name on which the film is based. "We have had a very clear stand since day one that we want this film to be banned. The committee made by the CBFC watched the movie and said the movie was vulgar and the facts were distorted. The film is made just to earn money. Along with the name of the movie, the characters' names should also be changed,"  Karni Sena member Mahipal Singh Makrana said.
