Sunil Ekka slams in seven goals in 11-1 victory

Following their thumping win, Army Red moved to 15 points along with Bharath Petroleum Corporation Limited. Army Red hold the pole position on more number of goals scored. BPCL edged out Fortis 2-0 in the day’s other match.

Ekka started the Army Red onslaught in the completely one-sided affair with a goal in the second minute before sounding the board in the 7th and 10th minutes to complete a treble. With team-mate Mukesh sandwiching a goal in the fourth minute, Ekka, in full flow and unstoppable, slotted again in the 13th,  22nd and 28th minutes to hand Army Red a 7-0 lead at half time.

Already bleeding, Army Green’s pain only intensified after Rohit Tirkey struck in the 46th and 48th minutes while Kalyan Bhengra (56th) and Ekka (66th) completed the rout.
Birsu Bhengra scored a consolation goal for Army Green in the 55th minute.
