Trio assaults traffic cop

Three men have been arrested for assaulting a traffic policeman as he held drunk driving checks late on Friday night.

Chandru, Kiran and Srinivasa Gowda, all from Basaveshwaranagar, argued with Venkatesh, a traffic ASI, and his team when they were checking motorists at the CTO junction near Cubbon Park. Chandru refused to blow into the breathalyser. He then snatched the breathalyser and smashed it on the road. He assaulted Venkatesh when the ASI confronted him.
