'Badurul Munir Husunul Jamal Pranaya Kavya', the Kannada translation (prose) of Arabi Malayalam poetry by Moyin Kutti and translated by Prof B M Ichlangod was released at Patrika Bhavan in Urwa, Mangaluru on Monday.

Releasing the book, Kannada University, Hampi former professor A V Navada said that the original work by Moyin Kutti written in the 19th century was one of the finest works in Arabi Malayalam and Prof B M Ichlangod has translated the work into Kannada efficiently. The work became famous through 'Mapla patt' included in the work, which contained 94 poems. Moyin Kutti penned the work in his 25th year. The poet has created 15 poetic works in 15 years.

The work 'Badurul Munir Husunul Jamal Pranaya Kavya' is about a princess Husunul Jamal and her beau Badurul Munir. Through his willpower, Badurul overcomes the difficulties posed by evil forces in his way. The book has a good message for the young generation, Navada said.

Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy president K M Muhammed, Kannada Sangha secretary Sheetal Kumar Jain and secretary Jeevan were present in the programme.
