The director of Urban Land Transport (DULT) conducted a meeting with bicycle operators on Friday to discuss the public bicycle-sharing system(PBS) in selected clusters within BBMP limits.

Recently, the DULT had invited for Expression of Interest(EOI) to set up PBS in the city.

PPP mode

The DULT is teaming up with the BBMP to create 70 to 80 kilometres of cycling lanes in the Central Business District (CBD) under the public-private Partnership mode.

The 600 locations marked for the first phase include MG Road, Vidhana Soudha, Indiranagar, Banaswadi, HRBR Layout, HBR Layout and Kacharakanahalli.

Recently, the private PBS companies like PEDL by Zoomcar and Yulu, have started operating technology-enabled cycle sharing service in the city.
