Addressing the reporters at N R Pura Police Station on Friday, the SP said that all security measures have been taken to conduct free and fair GP elections. If required, he said that additional forces will be brought into the district from other places.
“The influence of naxalites has reduced in Malnad region. After Police, revenue department and various other departments joined hands to take up developmental works, people have abandoned naxalism and support to naxalites. People should be congratulated for the same,” he said.
He opined that there has been increase in theft cases in the region and it has been now discovered that people have been coming to the district from Shimoga and Bhadravathi taluk to the area to execute theft. He asked the local residents to be in contact with the police. He said that public can even call him directly on his mobile number -94808-05101. Koppa DySP Abdul Ahad and Police Inspector Prabhu were present.
