Shah praises BSY

BJP national president Amit Shah heaped praises on state party president B S Yeddyurappa for sustaining Navakarnataka Nirmana Parivarthana Yatra for 85 days and travelling around 10,000 km. "Never has any leader campaigned so extensively to mobilise public opinion," he said. Yeddyurappa claimed that crores of people had participated in the rally.

Speeches get nastier

Speeches by BJP leaders at the party rallies seem to be getting nastier by the day. Senior BJP leader R Ashoka repeatedly addressed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the singular for "sponsoring a bandh" on the day of the Parivarthana Yatra. "You are a coward. You should be ashamed of yourself," Ashoka said.

BJP chief's portrait

A portrait of Amit Shah was readied by an artist even as he spoke at Thursday's rally, much to the amusement of one and all. The portait had striking resemblance to Shah and was presented to him as a gift by artist Amar.

A brief visit
The BJP president was present at the Mysuru rally only for a little over half an hour. Shah, who arrived from New Delhi particularly to attend the event, rushed back citing important work at the party office in the national capital. As a result, the itinerary was rescheduled. Shah, who is usually the last to speak at such conventions, was the first speaker this time.
