Cop held for misbehaving with woman

Police said Murthy, a resident of Malagala, had lent money to the autorickshaw driver’s wife, his neighbour. On Thursday night, he entered her house when her husband was out, and demanded that she repay the money.

When her husband returned, the woman told him that Murthy behaved in an indecent manner with her. He filed a complaint with Jnanabharathi police. Later, the autorickshaw driver, along with his supporters waited for Murthy to return. When Murthy returned home allegedly intoxicated, the group caught him and handed him over to police. Police said Murthy was arrested and produced in the court. He was released on bail.

Bags seized

Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights along with Commercial Street Police raided a shop at a commercial complex, Gollar Lane and seized imitations of hand bags of a popular brand worth Rs two lakh. Shop owner Murali (30) was arrested on the charge of cheating.

Held for laptop theft

The KS Layout police have arrested Veera (24) of Chandranagar and recovered 10 laptops worth Rs 4.10 lakh. According to police, Veera stole the laptops from houses. He was arrested when he was trying to sell a stolen laptop near Dayananda Sagar College.

Fake notes seized

The CCB detectives have arrested Srinivas (35) of Pandarahalli in Kolar District and seized 345 counterfeit currency notes.

The arrested told the police that he would print the counterfeit notes with the help of his friends and circulate them in Bangalore. He was carrying 295 notes of Rs 500 denomination and four notes of Rs 50 denomination. On a tip off, the police surrounded Srinivas and two of his associates near Corporation office. However, the two accomplices managed to escape.

Man robbed

Two unidentified persons robbed K M Jeevan Kumar of his valuables when he was returning home on Nisarga Road in DJ Halli on Thursday night. The suspects, who were riding a two-wheeler, accosted Kumar, threatened him with a knife, snatched his gold chain, a cellphone and Rs 650.

3 held for vehicle theft

The Kodigehalli police have recovered seven stolen motorcycles worth Rs four lakh by arresting three persons.
 
Ravikumar M (21), Lokesh alias Loki (19), both residents of Tata Nagar, Kodigehalli, and Manju (19), a native of Mandya district living in Narayanappa Layout, were arrested when they were moving around suspiciously in Bhadrappa Layout on Wednesday. Upon interrogation, the trio confessed to stealing two-wheelers in Kodigehalli, Yelahanka New Town, Malavalli, and other places.
