JOIN USA 30-year-old man committed suicide over a domestic row on Friday night.
Vijay Kumar, a resident of Prakash Nagar, was an autorickshaw driver. Kumar killed himself by hanging at his house in Rajajinagar.
Kumar lived with his wife Pavithra, who he married two-and-a-half years ago, and the couple have a year-old child.
According to the police, Kumar used to come home drunk regularly and quarrel with Pavithra over trivial issues. Pavithra used to retaliate, too.
On the day of the incident, Kumar came home drunk as usual and created a ruckus, breaking the television set in the melee.
Around 2.30 am, Kumar woke up and hanged himself. He used a saree that was knotted to a ceiling hook, and which was used as a makeshift cradle for the baby, the police said.
The suicide came to light in the morning when Pavithra woke up. She informed her neighbours, who helped her shift the body to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
The Rajajinagar police said there was no suicide note, and have registered a case of unnatural death.
