Police have arrested two more people, Jeevan Pereira, a resident of Thannirbavi and Sathish alias Sacchu alias Sathish Gowdappa of Kudroli, in connection with the murder of Shivaraj Karkera at Bokkapattana in Mangaluru on January 22.
Police had already arrested three people within a few hours of the murder.
An alert journalist thwarted an attempt to rob an ATM, at Valencia on late Friday night.
Noticing a man wearing burqa moving suspiciously near the ATM, the journalist informed the police who rushed to the spot. A complaint has been filed.
