<p class="title">The sixth state pay commission has recommended an increase of 30% in pay to 5.3 lakh state government employees. </p>.<p class="bodytext">The commission constituted by the state government and headed by retired IAS officer M R Srinivasmurthy submitted its report to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Siddaramaiah is expected to make an official announcement accepting the recommendations of the panel in his budget address on February 16.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The commission's recommendation places the minimum pay scale to government employees at Rs 17,000 and maximum at Rs 1.5 lakh plus allowances per month.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The revised pay scale will come into effect from July 2017 and will cost the state exchequer an additional burden of Rs 10,508 crore per annum.</p>
