600 cooks to ready snacks for Modi rally

The state BJPis making elaborate arrangements for the pre-election rally to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bengaluru on February 4.

According to party sources, Modi will land at HALairport and take the helicopter route to the venue. The rally is scheduled to start at 3 pm. Three helipads are being built for prime minister's helicopter. As many as 20 LED screens are being installed at the venue. A welcome arch is being built at all the entrances. A mini hospital is being established inside the Grounds. A team of doctors with eight nursing staff will be on duty. Parking areas are being set on either side of the seating area.

A separate team is formed to manage traffic inside the Grounds to help the police. As many as 250 urinals and 75 e-toilets are being be installed, the sources added. As many as 42 auto tippers and around seven compactors are being hired for clearance of garbage, the sources added.

Four cooking halls each spread across half acres are being built and 600 cooks will prepare food. As many 250 counters for distribution will be set up. Menu for the meet - Chow chow bath and one sweet. As many as 16 lakh water packets will be made available.

Online registration

The party has started online registration inviting professionals for the rally. More than 10,000 professional have already registered. A exclusive enclosure is being created for them. Whatsapp video and posters are prepared and sent to seve lakh people ahead of the rally, the sources said.
