Delivering a talk on the need  for rainwater harvesting (RWH) at an open house discussion organised by the federation, BWSSB and Civic Bangalore, an NGO, Sivasankaran said the struggle for the scarce commodity will result in law and order problems in the future. “When the Cauvery Water Supply Project, Stage IV, Phase II is commissioned, it will draw upon even the last drop of water permitted for Bangalore by the Cauvery Tribunal,” he said.

Shivakumar, Principal Investigator, Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, pointed installation of RWH had helped Chennai overcome its water shortage problems.
Kempiah, in charge of the RWH division of BWSSB, said nearly 40 per cent of government buildings in the City had adopted RWH.

He hoped that soon there would be 100 per cent adherence.
