The teachers and BEO should ensure that the district gets good results in the SSLC examination, said Taluk Panchayat president Thekkade Shobha Mohan.

She was speaking at the monthly KDP meeting in Madikeri on Wednesday.

"The teachers should get ready the students to face the examination," she advised.

BEO Gayathri said, "The preparatory exams are held at school, taluk and district levels. All preparations have been made to improve the SSLC results. We are expecting good results this year."

She said that the students from Emmemadu and Hodavadu leave for Arabic language classes in the evening. "This will have an impact on the SSLC results. An awareness needs to be created among the parents to concentrate on the SSLC examination," she stressed.

An officer from Women and Child Welfare Department said that the anganwadi building at Peroor is in a deplorable condition. Already, the work on six anganwadi centres has been completed and the remaining is in progress.
