The actress will be back on the silver screen with the  film Chase but said that she has grown tired of explaining her frequent sabbaticals and defending her choice of movies.

“I work for myself and not to please anyone. If I work to please people, then I’ll probably have to work all the time,” Udita said.
The 26-year-old-model-turned-actress asserts that she only takes up projects which she believes in. “In modelling, I did what I pleased which made me passionate about what I did. The number of films I act in is a matter of personal choice,” said the actress.

Udita, who made her debut in Pooja Bhatt’s Paap, went on to play the femme fatale in Zeher, opposite Emraan Hashmi and Aksar with Dino Morea. But the actress feels that she was unduly typecast. “I am dying to play a happy-go-lucky girl, a romantic comedy, anything that will help me evolve more. I want to play my age for a change,” she said.

Meanwhile, she is anticipating the release of Chase, opposite actor Anuuj Saxena. “We had a lot of fun on the sets. I did underwater scenes. We had to run for two or three days through the jungle, where a pack of  hungry dogs chased us. And there is this particular scene, where the dog is off the leash and pounces on us. It was scary but fun,” said Udita. Udita’s fans will also get to see her as Lady Gaga, the popular American pop star in a song. “It was crazy! I had to try on ten wigs before we finally zeroed in on one that suited me most. My own father didn’t recognise me,” she said. The actress will be making a special appearance in Sunny Deol’s The Man, where she plays a spy and will also be seen in the Akshay Kumar starrer Helloo India.
