RTPS seventh unit stops power generation

Following a technical glitch, production in the seventh unit of the Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS), which has a capacity to generate 210 MW of power, was halted on Thursday.

Though the technical problem is small by nature, the RTPS officials immediately inspected and the problem is being attended to. A total of 1,050 MW of power is being generated from the six units which have a capacity to generate 1,720 MW of power, said the officials.
