Musical tribute to luminaries

The team Prakruthi under the leadership of M S Prasad and Praveen D Rao has been successfully organising musical evening every Sunday. The 50th week was dedicated to Dr Rajkumar and Dr Vishnuvardhan under the theme Gandhada Gudi. The celebrations were also dedicated to team Snehaloka, founded by late Vishnuvardhan.

The spectators enjoyed the musical evening in an open space, seated on benches and green lawns. Young and budding artistes rendered the songs of Rajkumar and Vishnuvardhan accompanied by the veteran musicians. The budding singers namely Vyasaraj, Manoj, Ajay, Santosh, Jyothi, Pooja, Nandini and Namitha crooned all types of songs from devotional to fast beat, melodious to hip-hop.

Baare baare... song from Naagarahaavu, Tamnam tamnam... from Eradu Kanasu, Naadamaya... from Jeevana Chaitra, Nille Gouramma... from Kittu Puttu, Nannede Kogileya... from Olavu Geluvu, Preethi Nannusiru... from Singapuradalli Raja Kulla, Ninna Nanna Manavu, from Bhagyavantaru and many more hit songs were presented with full expression and involvement.

Six senior musicians were honoured for their contributions to the field of music. Rhythm player Balasubramanyam (Bali), tabla artistes Ravikumar and Devambu, drummer Sukumar Babu, keyboard player Vasu and guitarist Jai Singh were among them.

Shashi, a regular audience of the show for many weeks said, “The team has been providing a good piece of entertainment every Sunday and I have been enjoying the programme with my family. I wish it continues for 100 weeks.”The team members of Snehaloka including actors Avinash, Shobharaj and others entertained the gathering in the end.
