Speaking to media persons after receiving charge from IGP (Western Range) and In-Charge Commissioner Gopal B Hosur at the latter’s office, Singh said better policing would be his top priority.

Stating that he would try to meet the expectations of the people, he hoped to tackle several issues pertaining to the district as and when they arise.

Mangalore is the fourth Commissionerate next to Bangalore, Hubli-Dharwad and Mysore. Interestingly, Singh is also the first commissioner of DIG-rank to be appointed.

The Hubli-Dharwad and Mysore commissionerates are being headed by the officers of IGP rank while the Bangalore commissionerate is being headed by the officer of ADGP rank.
