For the first time in the state, a mobile App has been adopted on an experimental basis in Hunsur constituency, to track the movement and performance of sector and flying officers.
Hunsur assistant commissioner K Nitish and probationary tahsildar Rakshit have adopted 'Life-360' on their mobile phones. It is connected to the mobile phones of six sector officers and members of 21 flying squads. This enables the officials to keep track of the officials. It shows the spot where the officials are on duty.
Speaking to DH, Nitish said the app helps them assess the efficiency of the staff. Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru K B Sivakumar was informed about the mobile app.
"He gave permission to use it on an experimental basis in Hunsur taluk. There are plans to extend the facility to other constituencies in future. The activities of the officials can be tracked on the mobile phone till the nominations are filed by the candidates. Later, it can be used on laptops. This improves the performance of the officials and also helps to check poll malpractice," he said.
