Spl enrollment drive: 17,178 applications received in DK

During the special camp 'Minchina Nondani' organised by the EC in all the 1,790 polling stations in DK, officials have received a total of 17,178 applications for the inclusion of names, deletion of names and modification in the voter ID.

The BLOs have collected Form 6 (for inclusion of names), Form 7 (for deletion from the electoral rolls), Form 8 (to make corrections in the existing entries) and Form 8 A (for change of residential address within the constituency) during the special drive.
Of the 17,178 applications, 12,424 were for the inclusion of names in the electoral roll. In Belthangady, officials received 729 (Form 6), 120 (Form 7), 72 (Form 8) and 5 (Form 8A).

In Moodbidri-1,560 (Form 6), 272 (Form 7), 435 (Form 8) and 3 (Form 8A); Mangaluru City North-1,604 (Form 6), 393 (Form 7), 264 (Form 8) and 2 (Form 8A); Mangaluru City South-1,795 (Form 6), 172 (Form 7), 130 (Form 8) and 0 (Form 8A); Mangaluru-2,536 (Form 6), 453 (Form 7), 509 (Form 8) and 0 (Form 8A); Bantwal-1,704 (Form 6), 200 (Form 7), 398 (Form 8) and 0 (Form 8A); Puttur-1,109 (Form 6), 267 (Form 7), 347 (Form 8) and 30 (Form 8A) and Sullia-1,386 (Form 6), 441 (Form 7), 188 (Form 8), and 53 (Form 8 A).

In Udupi

Special camps for on the spot registrations for inclusion, amending, and shifting of names from electoral rolls were held throughout Udupi.
The total number of applications received under Form 6, Form 7, Form 8 and Form 8A in all the five Assembly Constituencies of Udupi, Kaup, Kundapur, Byndoor and Karkala was 11,017.

FIR registered

Bantwal Police have registered an FIR against two BJP leaders Ravi Arasu and Umesh for violating the model code of conduct. Flying Squad officers Narayana Shetty and Joy Lobo had filed a complaint that the duo had conducted a party meeting at Kalleri and Arala and were serving food. The officials prevented them from serving food and registered a case.
