Another child has died of burns sustained during the explosion of an LPG cylinder at a house in North Bengaluru's T Dasarahalli on April 5.
Alavelu (9) died at the Victoria Hospital on Monday. Devika, the four-year-old daughter of the homeowner, Devaraj (38), had succumbed to her injuries a day after the incident.
A total of nine people sustained injuries in the explosion. While Devaraj escaped with minor burns, the other six are undergoing treatment. Devaraj's wife Lakshamma and Somashekar, the son of a relative, are said to be out of danger and will have to spend a couple of days more in the hospital, police added.
The explosion occurred in the early hours of April 5 when Devaraj returned home. Gas had leaked from the cylinder as Lakshmamma had forgotten to switch off the regulator. The spark from the light apparently caused the explosion, police said.
