<p class="title">Two dacoits struck at Ashraya Colony on the outskirts of Kalaburagi city early Thursday morning and were fired upon by the police. </p>.<p class="bodytext">The two dacoits are identified as Shekhar and Azeem, both residents of Alanda checkpost. They attempted to attack the police in a bid to escape. </p>.<p class="bodytext">At this point, PSIs Parashurama and Waheed Kotwal shot the dacoits in the leg. The accused who were injured are now being treated at the district hospital. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Constables Bande Nawaz and Bhima Naik were also injured in the operation. They are being treated at the Basaveshwara Hospital. </p>.<p class="bodytext">The accused duo are wanted in many dacoity, murder and other cases. The case is registered at the Kalaburagi Rural police station.</p>
