NAAC team visits Canara College

The peer team made its observation based on its three-day interaction with lecturers, members of management committee, college students, old students and parents.  The three-member NAAC peer team led by the chairman and retired vice chancellor of Haryana based Maharshi Dayananda University Prof L N Dahia, Convenor Dr Tharsis Joseph, who is also Principal of Kottayam based Dev Mehta College and Member Prof  A K Pandey, lecturer in Botany department, Delhi University, handed over a copy of their report to College Principal Prof B Shivananda Bhat at the exit meeting held in the college here.

According to a release, the committee in its report hailed many initiatives of the college including the introduction of self-financing BBM, BCA courses, six value added certificate courses, research, academic activities of Sanskrit department, full utilisation of available infrastructure by students, the disciplined, yet peaceful environment, creative involvement of old students and parents, extension activities aimed at the welfare of poor people, adoption of  village and the implementations of previous NAAC team’s suggestions among others.
